Toast To The Haters Pt. 1 Inspiration
SIDE A : Message To The Hip-Hoppers
This song was initially a freestyle that I had started at a freestyle festival, hosted by The Magnificent Ruffians somewhere in the Inland Empire. The first night I performed this song was in October 2009 at The Vibe in Riverside, as seen in the video. The video came out pretty sick, in my opinion. The video was made by POW, founder and sole operator of Untamedtv.com. I completed the verses with a little more politics involved, but I was trying to get my point across. I think the game needs to go back to some real hip-hop, hit you in the stomach ish….I don't mind the gangsta rap, nor do I mind some of the bubble gum stuff out there, but I think at some point, enough is enough. A lot of the stuff out there, I think is part of a bigger plan to dumb down the masses.
Toast To The Haters
This song was written, just as the lyrics are spit. " lately I've been behaving erratically, at the pad I be rapping sporadically, adamantly with agony attached to me, harassing me to keep rapping with passion, passionately. " It just came out and I kept going, it's a rap. The interesting thing is that I made this song right after a discussion regarding the age limits of hip-hop. I truly feel, most of the older rap cats are way better than these new jack rappers. Not too many young cats have the third eye a lot of the older emcees have.
When You See Me
This song was mainly written for the media. I see a lot of entertainers getting caught up because they get caught off guard, so I decided to make a song about me and what to do and not to do when approaching me in public. Sometimes when you're just kicking it, its not cool to have people coming up to you disturbing your grove you know. Anyways, I think you get the point. Its one of my favorite fun songs…
Tryin Not 2Go Krazy
This song was written to calm me down. Its like I saw a trend coming with all of the music and autotunes. It became frustrating, so this was a song talking about the way the world is heading, by allowing this type of stuff to happen. I truly believe that everything is connected to everything and with the proper insight, we may have a chance to save the world from self destruction, the direction we're heading… I speak about the media, our government, family and the corporate world. With all of these things happening, it seems as if some things are put there to intentionally confuse the public. So I expressed my concerns through this song with hopes I don't go crazy with all of this bs in the world.
I'm Ready
Now this was a fun song to write because everything kind of happened that day the way I expressed my feelings in the beginning. I was pretty much waiting on a check, I had no money left after buying groceries at Sams Club. The people there were acting like punks, then got hit-up by some gangsters, cut-off by a Mexican guy in a Ram truck and then ran into an old female friend I always wanted to hit and never got the chance. Interesting day, I just put it down how I felt, which was kill them all. The bottom line is if I have to get ready, then I'm ready, I'm already bald headed and heavy, already ahead of all of those so called outlaws who want to get me.
Give Me The Mic
This was an interesting song to do because these lyrics are really old. In reality, these were throw away verses. But at the same time, why not put it on something I said to myself. The reasoning is in the chorus of the song. I put a lot of work in the studio, a lot late nights, I put a lot of time into my shows, a lot of hyping and a lot hustle to pay for music and studio time. Another way of saying I'm ready with whatever I got. I was at the point where I felt some of my throw away rhymes are better than some people's best!
This is America
Exactly what the title says. This is America. I think the lyrics speaks for themselves. I am talking about everything going on in America. Rather people like the way I put it or not, it's the truth. The second verse, starts with me saying I kill white people. But what people don't pay attention to, are the previous words. Prior to me killing white folks, I was an American Psycho, which is a movie….I think some people are too far behind and look for ways to criticize or start bs.
Money (Commercial)
I learned the states in the 5th grade with a song and all of them put into their perspective territories. Mrs. Emerson was my 5th grade teacher. She in my opinion was one of the greatest teachers of all time. The second half of the song deals with Obama becoming president and people thinking the world is going to change because we finally have a black president. More information about the public being sheep…one day people will wake up and then the revolution begans.
How Do You Like Me Now
As the title speaks. How do you like me now. With all of the negative people in your life trying to hold you back from pursuing your dreams. Even family plays a part is this. You know you have passion for something and people will definitely try to find a way to bring you down. After all of the gossiping and fighting to make a name for myself, I have to ask the question to the haters, How Do You Like Me Now?
Parlay
A fun song. Everybody is still going crazy with the autotune. I think its time to settle down. People hating on me because I don't use the autotune. Well, lets just settle down and take it slow, maybe we can come to an understanding and leave it to T Pain? I guess it is what it is, but again, I just can't believe the madness of what I'm hearing in this music industry.
Sick
I just had to spit something sick. This is one of my favorite songs because of the word play. I think I did pretty good on this one. A lot of people slept on this song. The producer, Bobby Lo, said this is one of his favorites also. The beat is off the chain and sick as hell, as well, I think I came off pretty sick. Thus, the song is called sick!
Picture Me
This song is about imagination if you can keep up. I just read Catcher in the Rye again, which made me take a journey into imagination of what can be done in this world we live in. Plus with a family history of criminals and businessmen, its an interesting mix you get. I guess this one can be really interesting study material, due to the vivid and graphic lyrics. Another one of my favorites, I think a lot of people slept on.
Got To Get Busy
Again, I'm still toasting to the haters! All the people who are changing their styles to try and get over. I felt I had to write this in order for people to just keep it real. I feel no matter what I'm not going to dumb it down because your mind is too lazy. I got to get busy no matter what.
My Lyrics Bang (2pac Dedication)
The haters came at me with the fact that I am not coming with the hard stuff. How come I don't say nigga, how come I'm not cussing, how come I'm not getting gritty with it. So in honor of my man Tupac, I used his lyrics as a chorus and tried to put some gangsta into it…
I'm Still Alive
Haters are still trying to kill me. They want me dead. After all the stuff they try to put me through, along with all the stuff I have to deal with on a daily basis, I'm still alive. People can die many times if they let the haters kill'em, but I'm still alive on a journey, making it happen.
SIDE B : Hip-Hop Evangelist
Haters need a little inspiration. Coming soon to a neighborhood, club or gathering near you. I am the Hip-Hop Evangelist. A little something to let them know, this is just the beginning.
